Expedition Waterway

The Dutch have battled the oncoming sea for centuries. The Be Event Group offers a unique insight into Dutch waterway engineering in an interesting, and fun company outing to one of the Netherland's waterway marvels. This event begins in Rotterdam where your group will board a Spido boat. Via a breathtaking scenic route through the harbor of Rotterdam, we continue our journey through the new waterway. This waterway, which has been in use since 1872, takes us from Rotterdam to the entrance of the North Sea. Our final destination, the Maeslantkering in Hoek van Holland. This storm surge barrier is part of the Delta Works and was opened in 1997. The barrier is connected to a computer system that is linked to weather and sea level data. When a storm surge of 3 meters above normal sea level is anticipated in Rotterdam, these gigantic barriers will be closed automatically. When we arrive at the Keringhuis, we will give you a guided tour and challenge you to control the port in the digital "Control Room". Will you be able to keep everything running smoothly in this brand-new experience?

After lunch, it is time to bicycle or E-chopper our way along the Waterway towards the coast. Plenty of scenery to take in along the way and a chance for a nice breath of fresh air. Once we arrive at our destination on the coast you can choose to play a game of Beach Volleyball, try your hand at Kite Flying or perhaps channel your inner creativity with some sand sculpting. Want to try an exciting teambuilding challenge then we can offer our Be Robinson Crusoe games. To wrap up this fun company outing why not finish the day with a relaxing BBQ on the beach after which we will return to Rotterdam by bus.

Various options are available to extend the program with, for example, a "meeting package". A short break-out session or an energizer session in between or after the meeting, or perhaps a fun activity.
